Privacy Policy

Effective October 31, 2026 · Applies to Floaty Browser for macOS, published by iMarkr

In short: Floaty Browser does not collect any data about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything the app saves — history, open tabs, settings — stays on your Mac, and we never receive it.

Information we collect

None. Floaty Browser has no servers of its own and does not include analytics, crash-reporting or advertising software. We don't receive your browsing history, the pages you visit, what you type, or any identifier for you or your device.

Data stored on your Mac

To work as a browser, the app saves the following on your Mac only:

You can clear history and website data at any time in Settings → Privacy. Private windows don't save history or appear in restored sessions, and their cookies and cache are discarded when they close. Deleting the app removes its stored data.

Websites and search engines

When you visit a website, your Mac connects directly to that website, as with any browser. The website may collect information under its own privacy policy. Floaty Browser also requests a site's icon (favicon) directly from that site to show it in the tab bar.

When you type a search into the address bar, the search is sent directly to the search engine you chose in Settings (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo or Baidu), and that search engine's privacy policy applies. The app does not send search suggestions or typed text anywhere while you type.

Camera and microphone

The app only uses the camera or microphone when a website asks for them, and only after you allow it. macOS also asks for your permission the first time. Your choice can be remembered per website. Floaty Browser does not record or upload audio or video itself; the website you allowed receives the media stream.

Purchases

Floaty Browser is sold through the Mac App Store. Apple processes your purchase under Apple's privacy policy, and we do not receive your payment details.

Children

Floaty Browser does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. If the app ever starts collecting data, we will describe it here before that version is released.
